They also split the community, since PA players couldnt play with titan players but missing the features, so anyone who didnt upgrade to the "full" version of the game lost their ability to play multiplayer with the majority of the community that upgraded (all new purchases had to be Titans, since they stopped selling normal PA when it was released, and all kickstarters of any tier had got it for free.) They got a discount coupon that was only valid for a few weeks. As for the steam purchasers who had backed at the same tier as kickstarters, they got the exact same deal as the people who had bought the game for as cheap as 3.00 on some of the bundle sites (bundlestars had it really cheap at one point before titans, and it was constantly on sale). People were upset about the kickstarter not being finished, so they gave all kickstarter members free copies of titans. Then they announced Titans, despite the base game still missing features that were promised for development. The game went on really cheap sales very shortly after release (5-15$ in the first 6 months), but this sometimes happens with steam games so whatever, early accessers got early access. They were just going to lower the steam price as the kickstarter packages were released and all would be fair. At this point it was something like 90$ for alpha access, 60 for beta, and 40 for release. about 3ish months after the kickstarter ended, they brought it to steam early access at the same price that the kickstarter was, saying that to do it differently would be unfair to the kickstarter backers, but promising that buying into the same tier on steam early access would be treated the same as the kickstarter. Reposting my response from the other sale thread to better explain why the company is a bunch of scumbags.
